Garry Jones

Garry has over 30 years experience as a professional Artist and Designer, 

and now specialises in Carnival and Community Arts. He has received acclaim and recognition for his work regionally, nationally and internationally. 

 

 “Off Our Trolley” Arts first began in 2003 when Garry was commissioned to design and deliver carnival & community  art projects.

 

His roles have included:  

 

  • artistic director

  • project designer

  • event coordinator

  • project manager

  • workshop facilitator

  • marketing

  • performer

  • designer & artist

 

He works extensively across a range of artisic media, either alone or in collaboration with other artists or as a facilitatior in a group setting. These include: 

 

  • visual arts

  • push along 3D carnival floats

  • costumes 

  • head dresses

  • carnival back packs

  • installations & performance.

 

Garry has much experience of working with all sorts of people & communities; people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and difficulties . It gives him a great deal of satisfaction to see the difference that art can make to peoples' lives by empowering them, boosting their confidence, raising their self esteem and teaching them new skills.

                                                                    

He is very passionate about what he does and he believes that though creative techniques he can:

 

  • engage individuals and communities to develop skills

  • increase self esteem and confidence

  • raise awareness of many issues

  • have a positive impact on physical and mental well being

  • use art to inform, educate and train

  • make learning fun and enjoyable for all

  • create lasting and happy memories​
